(Dallas, TX) – KidsCare Therapy Inc., a pediatric home health agency, today announced a partnership with Homecare Homebase to deploy an agency automation solution focusing on pediatric therapy. KidsCare and Homecare Homebase have worked closely to develop a solution that will service the unique needs of pediatric therapy patients and specifically address the therapeutic differences between children and adults.
KidsCare has experienced explosive growth servicing the pediatric therapy market. Starting with just 10 patients four years ago to over 600 today, they have pushed their existing system to the limit. They needed a new solution that would allow them to continue to grow at a rapid pace, that would work specifically for pediatric therapy, and that would facilitate communication amongst their staff. “Therapy visits generate a large amount of patient documentation that has to be shared among the team. It was critical that we found a solution that could better handle this information and improve our overall efficiency. Patient care is our top priority and we wanted a system that would allow us to focus on the kids and not shuffling around paperwork,” said Melissa Shannon, Clinical Director, KidsCare Therapy.
“Homecare Homebase was an obvious choice to help our team improve efficiency and streamline our agency processes. The handheld solution is convenient and cost effective. It is imperative that our therapists in the field be able to quickly communicate back to our home office. It will certainly increase our abilty to staff more patients,” said Cortney Baker, CEO, KidsCare Therapy. “It was also key that Homecare Homebase help us tailor the system to meet the unique requirements of a pediatric therapy agency. We no longer have to force a system developed for adult nursing to work for pediatric therapy.”
Homecare Homebase worked closely with the KidsCare team to determine best practices for pediatric therapy. “Using the feedback gained from the therapists, we were able to develop new pathway structures within our current therapy module and quickly update the PointCare Manager to reflect these changes. This close collaboration has ensured we have a product that is field-tested and viable for pediatric therapists. This will certainly enhance KidsCare’s ability to service their patients,” said Guy Conces, CTO Homecare Homebase.
The enhanced solution is configured to account for the long-term supervision associated with the treatment of pediatric conditions such as ADD/ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and many more. The solution also enables the field staff to quickly and easily move through the data capture and input process, reference historical notes and easilyascertain the status of therapeutic goals. All of this allows the therapist to spend more time focusing on their young patient.
“This newly enhanced therapy module upholds our philosophy of developing software for the end user by the end user. The entire system has been created by industry veterans for use in the home health market and this new therapy enhancement is no exception,” said Tom Maxwell, COO Homecare Homebase. “We have worked closely with KidsCare to create an automated handheld solution that addresses the needs of pediatric therapy, makes the agency more efficient, and allows therapists to focus on what matters most, the kids.”
